2024 Port Tobacco Market Day - Now MAY 18

 The Society for the Restoration of Port Tobacco will hold its

Fifteenth Annual Market Day
Saturday, May 4 cancelled due to rain

Learn about Archeology
- CCASM will have a table near the Courthouse with an archaeological display and an activity.
 
Don't forget to stop by the CCASM table to say hello
- Public Archaeology at Swann Site (see below)

Entertainment (need to check times, etc for May 18)
- First Regiment Dragoons (all day with 3 performances)
- Rick Posey and Mary Mosher with colonial music (10:00 to 10:45)

PUBLIC ARCHAEOLOGY  (now May 18 and May 19, 11am-3pm)
Participate in Public Archaeology (or just stop by to see what's going on) at the Swann House Site that is just southwest of the Courthouse.  No experience is necessary.
James Swann, a free man of color, purchased the house and lot in 1843 and operated an inn/oyster house there for over twenty-five years.
Esther Read, Charles County Archaeologist, will be in charge, and CCASM members will be assisting.
